| Driving
direction to Finca Las Brisas, Costa Rica |
To visit the property, drive through
the town of Nicoya look for these
buildings about 20 minutes outside of town (south)
on the road to Samara or about 27 kilometers
distance. This small cluster of buildings is the
pueblo described as “Maquenco” on most maps. Maquenco is also about 6 kilometers north of the
last petrol station in the area near the Y in the
road heading to
either Samara or Nosara.

There are no street addresses or zip codes in Costa Rica.
Technically, our address is:
1.5 Kilometers North of the of school house in
Narjanalito on the Nicoya Peninsula Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Look for these buildings in the
picture above. There is a sign that says Maquenco but it is very small.
Turn onto the dirt road and head
right up into the hills about 4.5 kilometers. This is year around road
and should be good even if it is raining.
As you enter this road, there is a church on the
left and a clinic on the right. The church is easy
to identify, the clinic is just a small little
building.

If you
watch carefully along the way, you are likely to
spot howler monkeys.
As
you drive up the road you will eventually
come to a small blue building on your right, with a
sloping soccer field in front of the building. This
is the local school for about 10 kids. Alberto the school teacher’s house
is just down a bit to the right. Do not turn right,
just stay straight ahead.
(If you turn right the year round road ends in front
of the school and you then enter a dry-season road
we put in which heads up the mountain to Zaragoza and over
to Nosara. This road has just been improved a bit by
the municipality but it is closed during the
rainy season.)

Keep to the left after you pass the school, and you
will see a corral and then you will immediately
see a pretty nice road to the right behind a steel
brown cattle gate. This is the road
to go down. (Note: please be sure to close all gates
behind you.)
 |
If you look down this road it looks like the
picture above, except the road is no longer brand
new.
You will pass a house on the left
as you enter the wooded area. This is the home of
Senor Morales who we purchased the easement.
Follow this road to the property, about 1.5
kilometers. It is not a straight road but winds
through the woods and across pasture land.

Once you break out of the woods to pasture, keep the
fence on the left and head straight across the pasture
through a second gate.
Continue to the small parking area. Once
at the parking area you have already been on the
finca for 200 meters. The picture above shows the
parking area and community center.
